learning for life
Bluebird offers learners in the Early Childhood Development Phase opportunities to achieve a firm foundation towards the outcomes of the National Curriculum.
Learning is structured but presented in a concrete way, where all learners are encouraged and stimulated in areas that enable them to be successful. As in the National Curriculum we believe that "SUCCESS BREEDS SUCCESS", and structure the learning in our school to this end as we encourage young learners of a variety of cultural groups and backgrounds to interact in an atmosphere of tolerance, respect, and opportunity.
feeding into national curriculum
Bluebird has a reputation of 51 years of quality education, and has demonstrated the ability to cope with the demands of the new millennium, both in the revamping of the physical environment, and the re-structuring of learning programmes. In keeping with Outcomes Based Education, we build firm foundations for life long learning. We cater for the important phase from 3 years to 6 years.
The focus is on life skills, language, and mathematics, with the other 5 learning areas being integrated into these. The graded curriculum outcomes for each term, and for the year, are available for perusal by the parents. Our tranquil, well thought out physical environment offers learners a balance between active and quiet areas, where they can fulfil their needs and grow and develop without stress. The size and structure of the learning environment enables learners to feel in control and interact with confidence. The environment is also conducive to the first development of leadership qualities which appear between 5 and 6 years of age.
Bluebird feeds both private and public schools, preparing learners for Grade 1 or Grade 2. Boys attending Bluebird have automatic placement at Pridwin.
